Finding Resources (General)

Access this tool from the Resources & Clips Palette, or from a custom palette or custom menu that you have configured with the Resources - Resource Finder (General) tool. |
The Resources - Resource Finder (General) tool lets you:
Find which objects in your book are using a particular resource
Sort resources by name, ID, or times used
Display a Thumbnail View of any selected bitmap, icon, or cursor resource
To use the Resource Finder to find objects using a specific resource:
Click on the desired resource type. This displays all resources of that type in the book (only resources actually being used will be listed if the Limit To Resources Used box is checked).
If you are looking for a bitmap resource, you can limit the image format to BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, WMF, and/or EMF by checking the appropriate boxes.
Select a resource from the resource list.
Click on the Search... button to list
all ToolBook objects using the selected resource. The resulting list will also indicate how the
resource is being used (normalGraphic, backdrop, dragImage, richText etc.).
NOTE: You can cancel the search at any time by pressing the <F8> key.
Select an object and click on the Go To Object button to jump to its location in your book.
To sort resources, click on any of the column headings. Thumbnails will display automatically when you select a specific resource.
Note: you can collapse this dialog by clicking on the collapse graphic ()
at the top of the screen and then expand it again by clicking the expand graphic (
).
