User Comments

  • instructor" courses. When I took their training, I knew absolutely nothing about ToolBook and so it was a great way to come up to speed quickly. I still reference the CD for more advanced topics that I didn't use initially.
  • I received the "Learning & Mastering" CBT and love it. I hope I can someday make some as well thought out and implemented. This CBT is awesome, fun and inspiring. Great job!
  • The Learning & Mastering ToolBook Instructor CD's from Platte Canyon are very good. After spending the time going through the CD, a couple of days, you should be able to develop ToolBook apps. Plus, the CD was built with ToolBook, so you can open tbk file in Instructor and see how the course itself was built and works.
  • The Platte Canyon CD is your best bet unless you want a brain dump for a senior developer and even then your retention would not be as great. The "guru" would leave eventually and at anywhere between $750 to $1500 a day. The CD is a steal.
  • I would heartily recommend the "Learning & Mastering" CD from Platte Canyon. It's got all the tips, tricks, and code you'll need to get you off to a good start.
  • From an instructional design standpoint, I think it's a wonderful example of one school of instructional design: Laying out objectives, making sure you teach to them, using testing points along the way to make sure people are focusing on the important concepts, providing summary views, practice exercises, show me examples, along with a summative evaluation. I think there are other instructional design models, some relying upon more inferential and exploratory techniques, but I think they've chosen a very good approach given the topic. And I think they've done it in a way that works.
