Distributing Your Application

If you intend to change sources at runtime, you must distribute the following ToolBook Translation System (TTS) files with your application:

tbxxttsr.sbk

This is the TTS runtime system book, where "xx" refers to your version of ToolBook, e.g. tb90ttsr.sbk. This book is in the tbSystem directory during development (see also: ToolBook Translation System - System Books).

Distribution: This book should be installed to the ToolBook runtime directory.

Your .tts file

This file contains your source database locations in the respective [source <sourceName>] entries. (See Setting Up Sources for how to set these locations.)

Distribution: If the locations contain full paths (including drive letters) you will typically need to write these .tts file entries as part of your installation.

If the locations are relative paths, you do not need to modify the .tts file. You only need to maintain the same database locations relative to your application book.

In either case, the .tts file should be installed in the same directory as your application book.

All your application database (.mdb) files

These are the Access database files that contain your content.

Distribution: These files must be installed in the locations specified in the .tts file (see above).

ttsUser.hlp ttsUser.cnt

<both optional>

These are the user help and help content files for TTS. The help is linked to the Help button on the Change Sources tool. If you provide the Change Sources feature in your application then you probably want to include the help.

Distribution: These files should be installed to the ToolBook runtime directory.

Note: You should use the Prepare for Runtime tool to set ToolBook Translation System properties prior to distributing your application.
