Depending on your other Distribute selections (see Distribute Top/Center/Spacing/Bottom and Distribute Left/Center/Spacing/Right) these choices will distribute the selected objects based on the height and/or width of:
The rectangle circumscribing the selected objects
The page
The spacing described by either the topmost or bottom-most two objects
The total width or height of the objects (if touching)
